Welcome to the LEARN Unit website; these web pages give both information about the Unit and provide resources on learning
and teaching.
UHI Millennium Institute's Learning Environments And Research Network (LEARN) was established in
2000 to undertake research and development in learning and teaching relevant for this new distributed institution.
The main aims of the Unit are to:
- promote best practice in learning, teaching and assessment through quality enhancement and pedagogic change
- monitor and disseminate new approaches to learning and teaching
- promote research in learning and teaching within UHI
- undertake evaluation of students' learning experiences whilst they are studying at UHI
- advise on staff development initiatives for UHI
- disseminate LEARN findings throughout UHI and the HE and FE sectors
