Related Projects Study of MLE activity. The MLE Study currently (spring 2003) surveys over 700 UK Further and Higher Education instituions by questionnaire followed by a few case studies. The outcome will be a large scale overview and analysis of the current and planned use of MLEs in UK educational institutions: http://www.mlestudy.ac.uk . INLEI and the MLE Study are collaborating by sharing background information and statistical data and by co-ordinating their case studies. TALENT project - TALENT, a TLTP3 funded project, offers an institution the organisational, educational, technical support and strategies to implement effective network technologies on the Web for teaching and learning: http://www.le.ac.uk/TALENT/ CSALT (Centre for Studies in Advanced Learning Technology) at Lancaster University hosts the Networked Learning Programme, which is "designed to help trainers, human resource developers and HE/FE staff to work together effectively to design, produce, implement, use and evaluate networked learning opportunities". The site includes links to other research and teaching programmes as well as to a useful list of publications.http://csalt.lancs.ac.uk/nlp/ It is worth navigating through the csalt icon to the research pages, including Peter Goodyear's JISC funded study referred to above. See http://csalt.lancs.ac.uk/jisc/ CITSCAPES is a JISC funded project focussing on student ICT Literacy in Further and Higher Education. The site includes reports on student ICT Literacy in Further and Higher Education, case studies showing a range of current practice in colleges and universities across the UK, and tools to help reflection and planning within your own institution. It also offers a resource database pointing to useful sources, links to projects, events, agencies and so on, and a glossary of terms and acronyms. http://www.citscapes.ac.uk/ Click here to return to the top of the page. Relevant Institutions and Associations The ILT (Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education) is a professional body for teaching staff in higher education: http://www.ilt.ac.uk/ Besides publications and news, their website includes resources (members only) and an excellent links page to other associations and resources: http://www.ilt.ac.uk/public/AtoZ.html The LSC (Learning and Skills Council) is responsible for funding and planning education and training for over 16-year-olds in England. http://www.lsc.gov.uk/ The LTSN (Learning and Teaching Support Network) is a major network of 24 subject centres based in higher education institutions throughout the UK and a single Generic Centre: http://www.ltsn.ac.uk/ It aims to promote high quality learning and teaching through the development and transfer of good practices in all subject disciplines, and to provide a 'one-stop shop' of learning and teaching resources and information for the HE community. Subject centres each have their own website, many of which include discussions on good practice and practical examples of networked learning particular to their subject area as well as relevant resources.
