On this page you will find continuous progress reports including open questions and current problems. Our study will be based on questionnaires, semi-structured telephone interviews and some in depth case studies. The results will not just feed into academic reports and publications but also into a self-evaluation and guidance toolkit to be used by policy makers. The decision of whether or not to embrace large-scale networked learning is one of the most central decisions to be made in higher and further education at the moment. Practical, financial and educational issues have to be taken into account.

Since we are still in the initial stage of the project, we are currently concentrating on the following questions:

Definition of Scope and Approach
How do we define large-scale? By expenditure, staff allocation, student or course numbers?
Who will be using our toolkit and what decisions will be made on the basis of it?
What does a good toolkit look like?

Your ideas?
We very much welcome your thoughts and ideas, regarding both our approach on the whole and the finer details of method and outcomes as they begin to form (and to appear on this site).
If you would like to add anything, please contact Kerstin.Jorna, or any of the other team members.
