Data gathering instruments: our research tools

During the initial phase of the research project we have focussed on gathering learner, non-learner and SME data through the use of the following research instruments (online & paper-based):

• Learner survey
• Non-learner survey
• SME survey

Initial contact with SMEs was established via telephone interviews and here we followed a so called structured interviewing technique whereby every interviewee was asked the same set of questions. A sample of these questions is available below:
